Our Story
Quest Beacon started with a pretty simple belief: high-quality technology should be a friendly, accessible public utility, not some overpriced corporate luxury.
We kept seeing small businesses, non-profits, and local town departments get ignored or underserved by big tech agencies. Too often, they were sold bloated, expensive websites that were a nightmare to maintain, locking them into costly retainers while ignoring basic accessibility rules.
That’s why our founder, a web accessibility specialist and digital architect, decided to do things differently. Quest Beacon was created as a down-to-earth, fractional advisory helper to give you honest, expert tech support whenever you actually need it, without the corporate runaround.
The Philosophy of the Beacon
A beacon doesn’t steer the ship, it just shines a clear, bright light so the captain can navigate safely.
We bring that exact approach to every project:
- You’re in the driver’s seat: You and your team keep total control of your website.
- We clear the path: We help clear out the tech jargon, build smooth and compliant layouts, and walk your team through setup and security so you’re never left in the dark.
Our Core Operating Values
These values guide how we work and how we support community-driven organizations:
Inclusion & Accessibility First
Everyone in our community deserves equal access to information. We build with care, making sure your site is friendly for seniors, screen-reader users, and folks on their phones.
Honest, Flexible Help
No locked-in retainers or hidden fees here. We work on a flexible, fractional basis. That means you only pay for the time you actually use. It’s built to fit neatly inside grant funding, small business budgets, or municipal limits.
No-Lock-In Support
We don’t believe in making you dependent on us. We build clean, lightweight, secure websites that are easy for you to manage. We’ll train your team to make updates themselves, saving you time and money down the road.
